With 30 years of experience in mental health care, Valerie Smith brings extensive clinical knowledge, wisdom, and a deep understanding of the challenges that shape people's lives.

Valerie believes that healing begins with awareness. She helps clients recognize the impact of difficult relationships, painful experiences, and situations in which they have been mistreated or misunderstood. Her approach encourages clients to acknowledge these experiences without allowing them to define their future.

Throughout her career, Valerie has supported individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), addiction, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Her knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment adherence also allows her to support clients in understanding and participating more confidently in their overall care.

Insightful, fair-minded, and empowering, Valerie combines compassion with honest conversations and practical guidance. She helps clients recognize unhealthy patterns, develop emotional awareness, establish healthier boundaries, and make informed decisions that support lasting change.

Valerie believes that understanding what happened to us matters, but learning how to move forward with that understanding is where meaningful growth begins.
